Here,
presented to you is a Trio (Accordeon / Bass / Voc) performing
Vallenato Music. Accompanied by an irresistable 70s Drum Machin
dubbed by Ignatz B, the band’s positive n’ polyrhythmic sound is
compatible for any Latin, Electronic and Outsider fans, searching for
new interpretations of exotic Folklores. Older than Cumbia, Vallenato
roots back to the pre-colonial indigenous folk. In the 20th century,
it became the ‘poor man’s’, northeast-colombian local
newspaper, spitting out gossip about the village next door, as well
as throwing some love songs in there. Musically it’s bare,
percussive, with nervous, virtuosic accordeon lines answering a
yelping singer while the bass (an instrument introduced in the 60’s)
dances backwards around the beat. Put on a good Puya and woodpeckers
can’t keep up.
Our duo Rudolf (Mineral + Igntx B) will be playing two concerts at Jordan´s capital city, Amman. First one at Jadal, a cultural space in the mythical Downtown. Second one, sharing the spectrum with local hero 1800´s.internet at the superb installations of the MMAG Fundation. Videos and recordings will be spread soon, shaping an invisible&elastic verbindung as only ol´pal Rudolf can provide!

Two
musicians, two life stories, a musical encounter, a concert. Brazilian
jazz, Argentine zamba, jazz standards and improvisation – many elements
and influences can be found here. And yet the jazz cellist Eurico
Ferreira Mathias as well as the guitarist and sound artist Nacho Buk
follow their own individual sound, in which some elements of
contemporary music also appear. The focus is the encounter: it’s the
moment of coming together, of listening, of sharing, of feeling – “zwa”as
it is called in the context of ubuntu – that creates the sound. With
great concentration one gives, gifts, hears and feels, supplements,
reflects, expands, opens and increases – one cannot avoid getting
involved with and giving to another person. The relationship creates the
vibration and becomes music itself. Thereby the groove sets the rhythm.
The
cellist and composer Eurico Ferreira Mathias has played in various
orchestras and ensembles in Sao Paulo. Currently he is living in Berlin
and is involved with projects relating to electronic sounds and
contemporary Brazilian music. At the Ballhaus Naunynstraße he has had
several musical encounters and concerts with, among others, François
Regis und Biliana Voutchkova. In addition he performs as a musician in
dance and theatre productions, including Auf meinen Schultern(On my shoulders) by Raphael Moussa Hillebrand.
Nacho
Buk is a guitarist, electronic musician and sound artist. He makes
sound installations for dance and spoken theatre, but his current
artistic focus is on free collective composition, pop collage and sound
manipulation. He has performed in several countries in South America and
Europe and has collaborated on more than 30 albums.

Playing bass lines for Illay´s oriental indie tunes, sharing the night with Rainhas do Norte & Wonderska
Berlin School of Sound präsentiert: Sounds Pop, ein
dreitägiges Festival im Kunsthaus Acud, das acht unentdeckten Talenten
aus der wiederbelebten Berliner Underground-Pop-Szene gewidmet ist. Vom
9. bis 11. September wird eine große Vielfalt an Stilen und
geografischen Backgrounds präsentiert. Weibliche und queere
Elektro-Poesie aus Brasilien, elektro-akustische Musik mit Vibrafon-Pop
aus Australien und Post-Punk mit Balkan-Sounds aus Zypern. Teil des
dreitägigen Festivals sind ein Field-Recording-Workshop, ein Labelmarkt,
eine Radiosendung, eine Diskussionsrunde und Essen aus Brasilien.
Sounds Pop wird unterstützt vom Musicboard Berlin.
Kuratiert von Camilla Ribas, der Besitzerin des Cafés Raum Schwalbe in Prenzlauer Berg, und Jeremy Woodruff, dem künstlerischen Leiter der Berlin School of Sound im Kunsthaus Acud in Mitte, bündelt das Festival die mitreißende Energie
von acht Bands und Künstler:innen, die unterschiedlicher und
aufregender kaum sein könnten. Sie alle verbindet das Potenzial, eines
Tages zu den Stars des Berliner Pop Underground zu gehören. Im Acud
sollen sie drei Tage lang die Aufmerksamkeit erhalten, die ihnen
gebührt.
Zu dem dreitägigen Festival gehört ein Labelmarkt, der an allen drei Tagen geöffnet ist und auf dem Künstler:innen, Labels und Medienpartner:innen ihre Kreationen anbieten. Feijoada, monatlicher Brunch-Star aus Brasilien im Raum Schwalbe, bietet Food und Drinks an.
Brasilian Jazz, Argentinian Zamba, Jazz Standards und Improvisation –
viele Elemente und Einflüsse lassen sich hier finden. Und doch folgen
der Jazz-Cellist Eurico Ferreira Mathias und der Gitarrist und
Klangkünstler Nacho Buk ihrem ganz eigenen Sound, in dem auch einige
Element der zeitgenössischen Musik auftauchen. Dabei ist es die
Begegnung, die den Klang erzeugt, das gemeinsame Hören, Teilen, Fühlen –
„Zwa“ wie es im Kontext von Ubuntu heißt. Wobei der Groove die
Schwingung vorgibt. DJ Grace Kellys Mundo Mix verbindet
afro-brasilianische Musik mit lateinamerikanischen Klängen wie Baile
Funk, den sie mit Electro und House mischt.

I was invited by the interactive-performance group Turbo Pascal to take part of a residency at a public library in the neighbourhood of Friedrichshain, Berlin. The researching process found its way in Böse Bücher, a live/audio tour across some polemic books from the library´s collection.
The german poets Mara Genschel, Mathias Traxler and Norbert Lange read and perform in the occasion of “Ohren auf! Auguste!”, a poetry event curated by Lettrétage in the streets of Reinickendorf. The video was made by M. Mitlag and powered by Carrot Tapes.

with the brazilian writer Angelica Freitas translated live to german
by Odile Kennel. The concert was organized by Tucholsky Buchladen, in
the pop-up bar Rosinen in the old airport of Tempelhof, next to the
parked II World War bomber.

Lyrik auf die Bühne. Angélica Freitas‘ Gedichte deklinieren mit
viel Verspieltheit alle Eigenschaften, die "Frau" im Laufe
der Jahrhunderte zugeordnet wurden; Haltungen und Positionen, die sie
in der Gesellschaft annehmen kann; oder lässt Google herausfinden,
was "Frau" ist. Im titelgebenden Langgedicht "der
Uterus ist groß wie eine Faust" beschäftigt sie sich mit dem
Uterus von Frida Kahlo, Alejandra Pizarnik oder Hillary Clinton, gibt
Pflegeanleitungen und stellt den ersten und einzigen Wanderuterus
vor, "der frei im Schengenraum zirkulieren darf. "Nie
werden ihre Texte moralisch oder erheben den Zeigefinger, nie wird
"Frau" zum Opfer, Freitas' Methode ist die Groteske, der
Surrealismus, die Ironie, der abgründige Humor. Musikalisch
begleitet von der Band Südwärts (Igntx B: sampl./elektr. bat; Pedro
Strelkow: bass./synth.; Yuliana Perdigow: bass clar./clar./fl.) –
feinster Elektroimpro! Eine Premiere!

place is being threated by the Berliner Gentrification Monster.

"Pasión en la cabina" es el último registro del dúo con Mineral, ahora radicado en Guatemala. Este flamante montaje sin intenciones alegóricas fue grabado a finales de octubre de 2020 en los míticos Estudios Varsovia del barrio berlinés de Friedrichschain, pocos días antes de su clausura definitiva. Por su parte "El gimnasio en casa Vol.2" concluye la apuesta iniciada por ¡Ultrabonus! en su apenas legendario "El gimnasio en casa Vol. 1", publicado en enero por Huija Records. En diez minutos fugaces, el combo de speed pop con sede en Neukölln ofrece algunas pistas para mantenerse en forma sin salir del hogar. ¡Feliz día del animal para todis!

Dealing with the reality of homelessness at Kottbusser Tor and the
surrounding neighbourhood. Winter – the hardest time to be without
shelter particularly now in corona times – The project Schlichthouses by
the artist collective LA 54 physical aims to
support Kreuzberger homeless by building
practical houses. Schlichthouse or Schlichtflat was a city developement
concept in the 50s where legal living standards have been underrun in
order to meet the need for housing after the
war. Theoretically many facets of expulsion are
not according to human rights. Against this background we can use the
right of housing, right of freedom, right of freedom of speech and
freedom of art productively. We want to tackle
the idea of living in public spaces practically,
together with the people concerned, socio-political actors, by-passers
and politicians.

In a four hours workshop oriented to children and young people, participants will get an experimental approach to noise making, space listening and sound technics elements. Playing with different devices and instruments -from synthesizers and toys to mixers and diverse types of microphones-, the workshop will create some sonic pieces inspired by the nature of the building.

Adriel David (noplanisagoodplan) / An experimental multidisciplinary project from Buenos Aires, Argentina, that looks for a Deterritorialized search of sound-image, conceiving super-collage soundscapes of manipulated field recordings, stricken percussions of unknown tribes, fragments of rhythms, simple melodies, processed guitars and voices, that melt and intersect to produce a textured surface of peaks, valleys, fissures, and plains.
Ignatx B is an musician, composer, sound engineer and multidisciplinary artist from Argentina. His work goes from experimental to pop, through techno, soul and jazz. Based in Berlin since eight years, Ignatx also plays in the bands Rudolf, Czentrifuga Fallen Stars and Los Mares.
LauraL (aka Laura Leiner) is an artist and researcher with a multidisciplinary background encompassing music, sound art, performing arts, photography, video, physics, chemistry and communication-journalism. Since 2004 she plays in the band M.i.p.V _ Músicas intermináveis para Viagem (“Endless Music For Tripping”), with three released albums in Brazil and Germany. Since 2009 she lives in Berlin and among other projects and participations in performances, she develops a concept of concert-installation and dark ambient, using guitar, experimental and ambient music, looped videos, field recordings and processed sounds.

In der Hypermoderne ist die Stadt nicht nur der Wohnort der Mehrheit der Menschen, urbane Räume sind auch die bevorzugten Handlungsorte der Literatur. Wie re-kreieren aktuelle Schriftstellerinnen die Stadt in ihren Texten? Gelingt es der Literatur wieder Gemeinschaft stiftende Narrative zu entwerfen? Oder ist ihre Aufgabe gerade diejenige, Widersprüche und Brüche darzustellen? Welche neuen Beschreibungen der Stadt entstehen aus der Perspektive der Vielfalt? Im Rahmen des 25-jährigen Jubiläums der Städtepartnerschaft von Berlin und Buenos Aires erkunden Schriftsteller aus beiden Städten gemeinsam den urbanen Raum. Alan Pauls ist ein scharfsinniger Chronist der Transformationen von Buenos Aires. Zuletzt veröffentlichte er "Die Geschichte des Geldes" (2016). This is an infotainment event as well as support action for Refugee Community Kitchen (donation on the door) A diverse programme of discussion, short film, performances, theatre, live music, djs, food and refreshments.
This is the final Step Across the Border event after a week long programme of activities in and around Berlin. Step Across the Border is an Erasmus Plus supported grassroots project which focuses on the exchange of knowledge and skills between diverse experts and educators from True North Health (London), Czentrifuga/Unter Druck (Berlin) and l`Embobineuse/Compagnie Peanuts (Marseille) and with vital support from our respective friends, contacts and networks.
The project blends together people who use their skill sets to help support people living in existential conditions and on the margins of society. Activities include sound and theater workshops and medicinal herbal and plant recognition.
Refugee Community Kitchen, which is in fact the cataylst idea behind Step Across the Border, exists since 2015, in which time they have served over 2 million hot, nourishing meals to displaced people in the UK and northern France. Entirely volunteer-run and donation-based, they are committed to serving wholesome food with dignity and respect to people in need.
